Even the immediate neighbourhood of the house invites you to hiking-tours through the hilly countryside. Within a few km other highlights are possible.
Culture:
The Gascony offers cultural and culinary delights. Places of pilgrimage, castles, cathedrals, old churches and historical spas - or just a walk through old villages. And all this within 50 km.
Antic fleamarkets and wonderful antiqueshops. Pitoresque markets offer fresh products all produced according to old countryside traditions:Cheese, Foie Gras, Armagnac, confit, jam, eggs. And everything from nearby farmers!
Many workshops of French and foreign artists are full of hand-crafted objects
On trouve en chemin des artistes locaux ou étrangers qui proposent dans leurs ateliers de très jolis objets d´art et d´artisanat.
Sports/ Outdoor:
Do you like the spectacular? The highest summits of the Pyrenees lie at hand. Within one hour by car. Mountain-biking, motorbike-tours, climbing and hiking, canyoning, paragliding , cayaking and rafting. The possibilities are unlimited almost.Many nationalparks protect and open-up the wonderful nature of the Pyrenees. The well-known skiing-resorts are 40 - 60 km away. Maybe more quiet are fishing, golf and tennis. Out-and indoor-swimmingpools are within 14 km.
Sightseeing:
Would you like to eat tapas or buy cheap petrol? Then go to Spain (50 km) .
Biarritz and St. Jean de Luz, the famous seaside resorts on the Atlantic Ocean can be reached in little more than two hours. A day-trip to Andorra means tax-free shopping.
To the Mediterranean you need about 2 hours. There a stay over night would be fine.
